“As a documentary music supervisor, I’ve had a wide range of experiences working with composers and I can definitively say that working with Nico raised the bar for what that unique collaboration can be. Nico is an uber-talented composer with a wealth of knowledge, creativity and problem solving know-how - and It’s rare that you find all those attributes in one person. I’m currently looking for more opportunities to collaborate again!”

Eric Rigaud.

“I can’t imagine working with a better composer than Nico Laget. We brought him our documentary on an extremely tight deadline and he delivered the most beautiful, creative and perfect score for us.

He brought an original vision to the project that deeply enhanced the storytelling. He was collaborative, professional, and delivered everything on time.”

Kiley Kraskouskas, Co-director, Dear Walmart

“I thoroughly enjoyed working with Nico on The Bonobo Connection.  He poured his heart and passion into this film as if it were his own.  He took the process very seriously with much enthusiasm and energy but was also very flexible.  Nico actively listens to what his client’s vision is and takes time to really connect to the work and to the technique.

We spent many days and nights communicating about the musical score for this piece and sometimes it took a few tries, but we all knew when it fit, when it felt right, and that was the sweet spot.

Nico is super talented and is able to establish a really comfortable working relationship with his clients even before the music begins. I think that’s one of the many reasons he’s successful.  But he’s also very honest with himself.  If something was not quite working or didn’t sound quite right, he kept working and working until I was happy and until the film was happy.

Without a doubt I would work with Nico again, in fact I cannot wait to have him score my next documentary.  Nico has an energy that is addicting and fun to work with.  It’s a real privilege to work with him and be a part of his music.”

Irene Magafan, Director, The Bonobo Connection

"Working with Nico was one of my favorite parts of making the film Struggle & Hope. It's wonderful to work with someone who is so versatile and who is truly an artist. The score really took the film to another level in terms of art and professionalism. A great thing about working with Nico is that he is so connected in the music community. No matter what kind of style or instrument we were looking for, he always found someone who was excited to work on the project with us. He's got great connections and is obviously well-respected amongst musicians, this is worth a lot when you are making a film where the music is so important. Nico is fun to work with, it's truly a collaborative process and he brings great ideas to the table that really make the film's score unique."

Kari Barber, Director, Struggle & Hope

“When we first met with Nico Laget to discuss our film, we had a sense of the mood and feeling we wanted the score to help evoke in key scenes, as well as a general sense of the type of music we wanted. We just weren't sure how to get there. Nico showed us the way. Scene by scene, and moment by moment, he composed music that enhanced the storytelling and truly took the film to a whole new level. We couldn't be happier with the score -- all made possible by the creativity, professionalism and collaborative process that Nico brought to the project”
